BtVS FanFic Crossover Rules

These are for specific stories I'm working/struggling with that will involve crossovers with a number of different story universes. For other fanfics the rules will be different.

Crossover Rules for stories in theRed Raider Alternate Universe

These rules might change for no apparent reason other than plotti-ness.

Story threads:

There are three different story threads in the AU that the rules apply to.

Red Raider - Willow and Lara Croft on a quest of sorts (BtVS/TR centric)

Key Crossover Rule Points

• Giles won't be a friend or acquaintance of the Croft family
• Lara Croft isn't as strong as (etc) as Buffy. She's a normal human who happens to be in excellent physical condition, NOT a super heroine.
• We don't need no steenkin' portals!
• Whistler is locked up in the back office and can't come out to play.
• Lara doesn't do/know any magic - that's a job for Willow
• We don't do character death so no pushing Kennedy off a cliff (It's tricky enough dealing with the canonical character deaths as it is)
• Nothing blatantly non-canonical until the bus leaves Sunnydale.
• No Lara/Willow NC-17 slashiness - sorry, no room on this boat for that (Not that I'm against it - I just can't write it). In fact, just getting them to get along, given the whole gun issue, is going to be hard enough without complicating it with such things.

Girl in a Bar - Buffy and Ginny Weasley (BtVS/HP centric)

Key Crossover Rule Points

• No visits to Hogwarts (Hermione mentions visiting the Hogwarts library but that is as close as it gets)
• No characters from BtVS going to Hogwarts (past, present, or future)
• The wizarding world doesn't know anything about slayers (Only Ginny & Hermione will get a clue but no one else. Mostly.)
• Willow's magic and wizarding magic are not really compatible.
• No lost relatives allowed
• The Boys from Gryfindor (Ron, Harry, etc) will be minor characters only.

The Faith Cycle - assorted stories of Faith in the Red Raider Universe

Key Crossover Rule Points

• All rules above apply.
• No Deatheater/Voldemort plots involving Faith

Rules for The Apprentice and sequels (3rd Slayer/Road trip story)

• no vampires or werewolves that don't fit B-verse canon. =

• no stories with magic that isn't compatible with b-verse magic =
  • Sabrina
  • Bewitched
• No other timelines not contemporary w/bverse
  • Xena
• No mutants/superheroes from Marvel/DC
  • exception - maybe Daredevil
• No secret agents/spy/other organizations
  • Nikita
  • Alias
  • Avengers (Mrs. Peel & co won't be showing up).
  • James Bond is busy elsewhere
  • X-files
• No time travel or portals to future places or ancient lands (I do have a couple ideas in progress that would require some sort of inter-dimensional or time travel to bring the characters together but I haven't quite figured out a good way to do it yet.)
  • Dr. Who
  • Andromeda
  • Star Trek, etc.

Rules for other possible crossovers

• No canon changing exposition about demons and vampires and slayers allowed - too distracting
• no cameos - only plot related appearances
• Highlander immortals - as long as Immortal watchers aren't same as B-verse watchers (none of this another division stuff.) and no boyscouts!
• Stargate (but no travel thru stargates for our OC or joining of SG1)
• Roswell - as long as our OC doesn't find out about aliens
• Smallville is ok but no Superman or Lex Luthor

Other issues

• Sex scenes ? Not something I can write - so there won't be any of that. Sorry.
