Class of '99

What if Willow knew she was gay before she met Buffy? How would things be different? For both of them? (Note: From a challenge on the BwW mailing list - so you know it's going to be a B/W fic... eventually.). A work-in-progress.

I'm not a huge fan of episode/season regurgitation. This will consist of approximately 8 stories (it will likely change once I get into it) covering the Scooby gang's high school years. We'll be checking in with them several times each year to see how their lives are going. The villains will be essentially the same. Key events each year will be fairly close. But how Buffy and Co. deals with them will possibly be different. And not just because of Dawn (And will she be the Key or not still? Does it matter before Season 5? Nope. So it won't be an issue here.).

Otherwise, what would be the point? Think of this as a whopping big Alternate Universe.

About section and chapter titles: Until a section is actually finished the title doesn't really mean anything. And even after that it probably still doesn't mean anything. It's just that most fan fiction archives expect each part to have a title of some sort.

Some general Buffy-verse background for the curious:

Okay... you've read Part/Episode 1 and you probably want to know... Is this going to be a crossover like most of my other fics?

Strictly speaking... No. It's already so far AU that it doesn't need to be to cause canon fanatics headaches. And I really want to focus on the stated aims of this fic.

However...

I'm sure a few people saw that coming..., I've put in a reference in the first part to something that occurs in a Stargate Season 5 episode. And several Stargate characters will possibly appear in later parts (in a non-Alien hunting fashion). But this isn't their story. It belongs to Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Dawn (and Giles and Joyce). Think of this as a prequel to a Stargate crossover. If you really want to know how the two series timelines would line up -- This story starts post Season 5 for Stargate.
