Red Raider Magic

This is an attempt to explain how the different kinds of magic found in the different fictional universes crossed over in the Red Raider Universe work together in this series.

There are two major types of magic:

  1. Natural/Elemental Magic

This type of magic is external to the user. Everyone can do it to some respect though very few can do much more than float a feather. The ability to draw on external magic sources is very rare. Usually associated with a religion because practitioners can 'borrow' magic from their deity to increase their power to perform a task.

The practitioners of this type of magic: Wiccans, Druids, gods

    • Seers - They have a very limited type of elemental magic that allows them to see the future, usually with assistance from some higher being.

  2. Internal Magic

This is magic that uses the internal power a person/creature possesses. In most cases it is hereditary. Most beings in this category cannot make use of elemental magic. Their own magic interferes.

The practitioners of this type of magic:

    • Wizards - they are able to use their internal magic, usually with the aid of some device to focus it, such as a wand. Some are more powerful than others.
    • Magical creatures
So where do vampires, demons, and other creatures fit into this? Most magical creatures are magic and cannot do magic themselves.
      • Vampires are demons who use their internal magic to animate the dead creatures they are possessing. They don't appear to be able to do elemental magic but can make use of enchanted objects.

      • Demons - unknown. They have been observed performing magic but the source is not clear.
      • Vampire Slayers - Magical creatures, their internal magic is very task specific. It cannot be used for anything else other than being a slayer. Most likely because of its demonic origin.
