Red Raider - Dreams and Prophecies

There are several prophecies and a dream or two driving the events in this series.

  • The Frankish Prophecy (Mentioned in "The Other Girl Part I")

This was found by Dawn in an old book she found in a bookshop. The exact text of the prophecy itself is currently unavailable. What is known so far (From the text of the story. The writer does know what this all means. Really!) :

"It seems to be about something that won't happen until Willow returns from her journey, but the prophecy could be interpreted to mean several different events a year or two from now.

Willow's visit to the shrine might trigger the rest of the prophecy.

"The prophecy seems to refer to several different people. Possibly a total of eight:

The 'White Goddess' ( Willow ?)
      The 'Thrice-Dead Warrior' (Buffy?)
      The 'Red Witch' (Ginny?)
'The first of Seven of Three' (?)
      The 'Green Scholar' ( Dawn?)
      The 'Searcher', (?)
      The 'Timeless Sword-maiden' (?)
      The 'Dark Guardian'. (?)

It contains a vague reference to time travel."

  • Sybill Trelawney's prophecy (From "The Envelope") as told to Faith:

"The seventh shall stand at the center of the circle of stone, not expected, alone among her sisters the key, the first chosen, the white, the red, the searcher, and the thief. The last chosen shall guard those to come against the dark. She shall endure the past to be reborn in the future."

    Which gives us:

      The Seventh
      The Key
      The First Chosen
      The White
      The Red
      The Searcher
      The Thief
      The Last Chosen

Note: Prophecies are tricky things. While 4 of the people mentioned in both prophecies are intended to be fairly obvious, the others are not and could change.

  • The slayer dreams (eventually 5 of them) Buffy started having (Mentioned in "The Other Girl Part I"):

"Willow is on a long journey through some mountains. She wasn't always alone but I never saw the face of her companion, just a vague impression of a confident woman with brunette hair, in a long braid. Some times she was standing in front of some sort of shrine holding something. Other times she was fighting a demon I'd never seen before."

"the journey I saw her taking was very pivotal in stopping a future apocalypse. Everything points to a Wiccan shrine somewhere in the Pyrenees in southwestern France."
