FFA#544 - Dawn/Penny (Lost in Space)
There were times she could be very aggravating. While most potential slayers were intelligent few were geniuses like Penny. There were times when she reminded Dawn of her sister, her insistence in living as normal a life as possible often clashing with her training. As much as the Council tried to provide them with some semblance of normality, even potential slayers weren't normal girls.
Having a vague premonition that something was going to go wrong, Dawn had tried without success to convince the Council to keep her favorite potential from joining the rest of her family on their journey. But the Council seers had over ruled her, insisting that Penny would be needed where they were going.
So Dawn had done the best she could to prepare Penny, providing the Robinsons with everything she could think of that they might need if Penny were called while they were gone.
When their ship was reported lost, Dawn and the Council knew better. Her connection to the young potential was still there even if she couldn't explain it. She was lost in space, not gone forever.
