Where The Books Are
 

A What if/AU story. What if Buffy were a librarian? And she meets Willow?

The story is centered around the idea that there are two groups competing for control over the "slayer line". The Coven, and the Council of Watchers. (And nether of them are related to the Watchers Society that keeps an eye on immortals) Nothing violent but they don't really get along. The Council figured out at some point a way to control the slayer without interference from the Coven and the Coven has been secretly trying to get her back ever since. For the noblest reasons of course (Sure they are).

Into this situation we drop a differently abled Buffy, a Willow, and a few other familiar faces. Altered slightly.

Notes:
  • Strictly speaking... this isn't intended to be a crossover.... however, this IS set in the same universe as Highlander (though a slightly AU version of that) so don't be surprised at the people who wander through her life.

  • Titles subject to change. Once I think of some clever ones.

  • "Different Career/Profession" AU Buffy wasn't my idea. Honest!

  • Okay... the librarian part was my idea... but the idea of "she who hates to research" (which is probably fanon, not canon) spending her life in a room full of books... struck me as very amusing. Not that this is going to be a humorous story.

  • Important Note

    This Buffy is a little different - she's paraplegic. Since I've never had to use a wheelchair or had such limited mobility, I'm sure there will be moments where my imagination fails me and something won't read 'true' about her experiences in this story. And even though the Internet is chock full of information, I'll probably get terminology wrong on occasion.

  • Corrections and feedback are always welcome but don't forget this is fictional and takes place in a universe where magic exists.
